Business update – Roger Callis

We regret to inform you that our Founder and Chairman, Roger Callis recently passed away.  This was an unexpected shock for all, considering he was in rude health, building a house and still playing golf "off 12”. 

Roger formed our present-day business, Filter Designs, back in 2001. Prior to this, he had founded Ceramic Filter Technologies, had held a position as Technical Director for Lodge Sturtevant and an apprenticeship at DCE, then establishing Environmental Air Filtration (EAF) in Leicestershire. He quickly established a successful business that led the way in the dust control industry.

His 45 years experience was shared with the present employees of Filter Designs. In 2012 his son, Simon Callis, continued leading the day-to-day operation of the business as Managing Director, with Roger retaining an active role as Chairman.

Roger has left behind a thriving engineering business, with a tight-knit and talented team. This is his legacy, and we will continue to honour it by delivering quality engineering with a focus on exceptional customer service.

He will be sadly missed by the Filter Designs team, and by his many acquaintances, former colleagues and clients throughout the world.
