Experts in air filtration

Services at Filter Designs

If you are looking for world class filter systems, at Filter Designs, we make use of the latest technologies, helping your company to run your process whilst controlling emissions to the highest international standards. At Filter Designs, we have over 75 years of industry experience, and we were set up as a Limited Company in 2001. We offer our services throughout the UK, as well as internationally. In this section we discuss the services on offer to our customers.

What We Do

At Filter Designs we cover everything to do with gas filtration systems – we design them, build them, install them and maintain them. Working within a range of industries, we provide our customers with both bag, ceramic and cartridge filter houses, offering all the necessary associated equipment for flue gas treatment. Whether you require hot gas ceramic filters, flue gas treatment using abatement technologies or simply an ambient temperature dust extraction system, we will be able to meet your needs.

Industries

Some of the bag filter systems we have provided in the past have included the following industries: waste to energy plants, CHP (Combined Heat and Power) plants, biomass plants, and cement plants. We also have offered our services to those companies involved in clinical waste and municipal waste incineration, minerals processing, aluminium smelting, food processing, precious metals recovery, coal fired boilers, soil remediation and acid gas cleaning. Additionally, we have turnkey solutions using either our bag or ceramic filters working with sodium bicarbonate (DeSOx), activated carbon (PAC) and urea injection (DeNOx) for acid gas neutralisation.

Consultancy

Although our main function as a company is dealing with designing, manufacturing and installing filtration systems, we are also able to provide engineering consultancy. Making use of our wealth of knowledge and experience, we can offer our consultancy for projects that may include, but are not limited to, providing designs for small filters that contain particular requirements as part of a research project. We also have the ability to use our in-house skills to design plastics separation equipment, including presses and conveyors. Once we have a long standing relationship with a client, we are pleased to engage in non-standard projects for them.

Licensing

At Filter Designs we have licencing agreements ready and in place for enquiries which may not lend themselves to UK fabrication. This can allow local fabrication and installation of our filter designs. We may simply provide designs to suit the application, provide designs and proprietary equipment or a combination thereof to suit the client and locality.

Servicing

For our clients, we are able to offer servicing for our systems from experienced engineers. This will allow them to fully test or re-commission your dust control systems. Whether you need your filter bags removed and replaced, or require maintenance of the cleaning system, for example, replacing or repairing pulse valves, we are able to help maintain and service your equipment. We can also arrange regular visits for servicing and repairs, fixing a service and maintenance agreement from the onset to help with your costs and budgeting with a fixed price.

Our recent Projects

We were contracted to provide 2 small Ceramic filters suitable for a small volume but with a design maximum temperature of 600°C. In addition the filters will be handling a syngas which cannot be mixed with oxygen so an alternative to compressed air would need to be used for the ‘Cleanpulse’ cleaning of the 25 Ceramic element in each of these CPC78 filters. In addition dosing of small amounts of a re-agent is required so the client also opted for a ‘Cleandose’ 25kg bag skid. Find out more about Project CAD below.
