Junior Project Manager

We are excited to announce that we are growing and actively seeking a Project Manager to strengthen our team.

Filter Designs Ltd design bespoke industrial air cleaning solutions, specialising in large bag filter systems.  It is a niche business best described on our website filterdesigns.com. Please visit this and look at the projects and products sections to appreciate our scope of work.

This is an interesting, diverse, and challenging role combining sales and project management from inception to completion.  This role will give you exposure to many aspects of the business and will require someone highly communicative and proactive.

The job involves office-based work with sporadic travel to areas in the UK and potentially worldwide from time to time. An understanding of our industry is certainly an advantage, and we seek someone who is eager to understand our business and develop their skills.  The ability to communicate with people from all walks of life is essential and be comfortable speaking with our clients, suppliers and associates.

Our office is in Market Harborough, an attractive town in the south of Leicestershire, and we currently employ 6 full-time staff.

The environment on our clients’ sites can be dusty and dirty and we are occasionally get “hands-on” which will necessitate a CSCS card and IPAF license which we will support as required.  Some practical capability and knowing your way around a tool kit is also an advantage. An engineering mindset is certainly required.

Pre-requisites:

  • A full, clean UK driving license
  • Project management experience
  • Presentable and personable to be able to be client-facing
  • Good practical skills
  • Good IT skills and adept in the use of office 365 programs
  • A keen eye for detail
  • A “can do” attitude

Main duties and responsibilities:

Sales Proposals

  • Use of office 365 to create sales proposals in word using existing templates
  • Work with MS excel and existing templates to establish project cost estimates
  • Accompany others to new sites in the UK and occasionally overseas for new sales enquiries
  • Ultimately travel to sites to develop sales enquiries independently
  • Work within an existing team to collectively respond to new sales enquiries and develop them into new orders and contracts

Project Management

  • Work with project cost monitor templates to manage the execution and profitability of projects you are responsible for
  • Use Gantt charts to present project timelines to clients
  • Attend project management meetings internally and externally with clients
  • Discuss and agree on costs with suppliers, occasionally negotiating as required
  • Manage client expectations in terms of project delivery and communication
  • Develop operations and maintenance manuals, based on past templates
  • Able to understand P&ID drawings and create electrical lists and functional design specifications

Drawings Interpretation & Design

  • Able to read and measure from Autodesk Inventor CAD 2D drawing system
  • Attend our design review meetings in the office/via teams to contribute to the success of the project

Communication

  • Communicate effectively with colleagues, customers, and suppliers via modern communication methods in a professional manner
  • Be a team player, helping others and sharing the workload when required
  • Attendance and contribution to video conferencing meetings as needed

Business Development

  • Coordinate with others to help maintain & develop the Drawing system for Quality Assurance ISO 9001:2015

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Salary Guide: £18,000.00-£30,000.00 per year depending on suitability and experience.

Our recent Projects

We were contracted to provide 2 small Ceramic filters suitable for a small volume but with a design maximum temperature of 600°C. In addition the filters will be handling a syngas which cannot be mixed with oxygen so an alternative to compressed air would need to be used for the ‘Cleanpulse’ cleaning of the 25 Ceramic element in each of these CPC78 filters. In addition dosing of small amounts of a re-agent is required so the client also opted for a ‘Cleandose’ 25kg bag skid. Find out more about Project CAD below.
